Electrician installing new electrical outlets

Outlets & Switches

Nobody thinks about an outlet until it stops working. Or there aren't enough. Then you end up with extension cords everywhere and a power strip doing a job it shouldn't. It doesn't have to be this way. We put receptacles in where you need them, replace worn-out switches with new ones, and upgrade wet room sockets to the safer kind.

Interstate Electrical Contractors installs electrical outlets in Glendora and the surrounding cities, for homes and businesses alike. Frank Chiavarini has been wiring this stuff since 1981. He is a California C-10 licensed electrical contractor, #415324, verifiable with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) at cslb.ca.gov. Small job or a whole house, we do it to code and clean.

What's Included

What's Included in Our Outlet & Switch Service

That daily electrical work that makes a place livable.

  1. New outlet installation

Want more plug space? We install receptacles where you need them: behind a desk, over a counter, or out in the garage. If the load calls for it, we tap the nearest circuit or run a new one. One of our most common calls is an extra outlet in Arcadia, CA, and it's usually an easy fix.

  2. GFCI outlet installation

Water and electricity aren't compatible, so the National Electrical Code (NEC) requires ground-fault protection wherever they intersect. You'll find it in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoors. In Glendora and Upland homes, we do this all the time: install GFCI outlets. If there's a fault, they kill the power in a fraction of a second. It's a small upgrade that truly stops shocks.

  3. Switch installation & replacement

If a switch crackles, sticks, or does nothing, replace it. We replace worn ones and install whatever you need: dimmers, three-way switches for the top and bottom of the stairs, and smart switches you can run from your phone. Cleaner design, better function.

  4. Outlet & socket repair

A dead, loose, or warm receptacle is telling you something. And it's not good. We provide electrical socket repair in Arcadia, CA, and nearby areas. A bad connection, worn contact, or wiring behind the wall can cause a problem. When something is on the fritz, we fix the cause, not just the cover plate.

How It Works

Our Outlet & Switch Installation Process

Four quick, easy steps.

  1. Assessment

We confirm what you need, review the circuit, and make sure it will support the addition.

  2. Wiring and placement

We mark the spot, run the wire, and put the box at the right height.

  3. Installation

We fix and wire the receptacle or switch, then put it back together neatly.

  4. Safety test

We test for proper wiring, grounding, and fault protection before we leave.

Why Us

Why Choose Us for Outlet & Switch Work

Licensed work, clear communication, and the job done right the first time — here's what that looks like with us.

  1. Code-compliant placement for wet areas

Proper ground-fault protection is more than installing a fancy receptacle. It has to be in the right spot in the circuit to protect everything downstream. Frank knows exactly where these belong in kitchens, baths, and outdoors, so your home passes inspection and stays safe.

  2. Clean installation with minimal wall patching

Opening a finished wall to add a receptacle. Done right, it's a small, neat cut you'll hardly notice. We fish the wiring and keep patching to a minimum so you don't have a repair job on top of the electrical job.

  3. Fast turnaround for repairs

A dead outlet where you count on it is a daily headache. Most repairs and swaps are same-visit work, so we show up, get it sorted, and you're back in power the same day.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about pricing, what to expect, and how we handle the job.

Do I need GFCI outlets in my kitchen or bathroom?

Yup, code requires ground-fault protection in any area near water, and for good reason: it cuts off power the instant it senses a fault. If your kitchen or bath still has basic outlets, consider upgrading.

Can you add an extra outlet to an existing room?

Absolutely. We either use an existing circuit or run a new one, install the box in a finished wall, and minimize the patching. It's one of the best ways to improve a room.

How much does outlet installation cost?

It depends on how many you want, where you want them, and whether we are tapping off an existing circuit or running a new line. One receptacle near a live circuit costs less. A run through the house costs more. We will quote it before we start.

Do you repair outlets that have stopped working?

We do. A dead outlet usually indicates a tripped upstream GFCI, a loose wire, or worn contacts. We get to the real cause and fix it, not just swap the face and hope.
